Your Type
Most of your mental energy drains into the regrets of "If only I..."; you easily dwell on past mistakes or missed opportunities, repeatedly replaying those regretful scenes in your mind. This "deep obsession with the past" actually reflects your underlying evasion of "facing current dissatisfaction and future uncertainty"; you fear that once you admit the past cannot be changed, you must confront the current, possibly inadequate version of yourself, so you use "wallowing in rumination" to delay accepting the status quo. But you can't drive a car forward while constantly looking in the rearview mirror. Try saying out loud to yourself, "That is over; what can I do right now?" next time you fall into memories; when you learn to forgive the you who once made a wrong decision, you can truly own the present.
💡 Did you know?
Psychology calls this repeated recall of past negative experiences 'Rumination'. When ruminating, the brain relives the stress response of that time, continuously draining current energy.
